Things to ask when booking a makeup artist
1. Do they have any references?
2. What is their training?
3. What is their background and experience?
4. Do they have an area of expertise?
5. Do they have a portfolio?
6. Do they have any certification?
7. What lines do they work with?
8. Do they have an understanding of skin care?
9. Do they have any experience with photography makeup?
10. How long have they been practicing?
11. What do they do to keep their trends current and fresh?
**(This is just a baseline of questions I thought would be found helpful. When you are booking a makeup artist it is for a special occasion and you want to make sure they will take special care of you and are completely qualified)**

Trash the Dress
This past Sunday I did the hair and makeup for a trash the dress photoshoot. For those of you who are not aware of what this is, it is where a women literally trashes her wedding dress! I got to work with the wonderful http://www.ikandiphotography.com/. It was an amazing experince that I hope to do again very soon.
The "model" did fantastic and was such a trooper and we rubbed mud on her, threw leaves on her, and eventually put her in a pond.
It was so awsome to do some fun and crazy makeup!

A Little About Me!
Just thought I would start this out with a little about me! I am Elisabeth! I am a wife, mother, dog lover, music lover, yoga lover, and wine lover. I am also a makeup, skin care lover and fashion lover! I went to the University of KS and started out in the art program, but new I wanted to end up in fashion. From there, I worked in high end retail management specializing in personal shopping/ styling and visualizing. While working for a store in San Diego, I was recruited to manage a new cosmetic store and fell in love! I then went back to school for skin care and makeup.
The past 5 years I worked very minimally because I had small children, but now as they are getting bigger and starting school, I have decided that I am going to pick things up! Not only am I working in free lance makeup, but I am also now offering personal styling on a budget. This is helping you find the latest trends at prices that are much more affordable and learning how to pick staple pieces and mix and match them with the fun and funky styles.
